GREENTEK CAREER ACADEMY CHARTER SCHOOL APPLICATION TO OPERATE A CHARTER SCHOOL IN ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS

We, the undersigned, strongly believe that GreenTek Career Academy Charter School will be of great benefit to the children and families of the Rockford Public School District and the citizens of Rockford in general.  It is designed to serve at-risk and out–of-school students through a multi-faceted program of educational, social, and employability supports that provide youth with the full range of resources they need to complete high school and transition to post-secondary opportunities.   

GreenTek Career Academy Charter School will provide a much needed service for youth in our community who have found little success in the traditional educational environment.  It will feature a curriculum that is academically rigorous, focused on environmental issues and cutting edge technology while it prepares young people for responsible, sustainable citizenship and careers in green collar occupations.   
 

We, the undersigned, respectfully request that the Rockford Public Schools approve the GreenTek Career Academy Charter School’s application to operate in Rockford beginning in the fall of 2010.
